We’re working with a scale-up backed by a billion-dollar company that is disrupting a global industry. They have built a living, breathing, hyper-intelligent insurance engine driven by data. The company operate on a B2B2C model and sells its product as a white label solution or as exposed APIs that clients can put their own frontend on. Based in Switzerland with an engineering hub here in Hoofddorp just outside of Amsterdam, they are looking for Backend Developers who are experts with JVM based languages.

What to expect:

You would be joining the business to help scale the product, solve concurrency challenges, and move into new Geos. There are currently 9 teams working on the product and another two teams being built, all of which work cross-functional and touch on the product life cycle E2E. You would be tasked with designing new features, and developing prototypes, whilst delivering high-quality code focused on performance, maintainability, and scalability. The company work with a stack consisting of Kotlin, Spring, AWS, Kafka, Docker, and MongoDB.

Requirements:

  • Experience with domain driven design to high traffic, service oriented, and API first architectures
  • Experience with JVM based stacks - Kotlin is a big plus
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, and Kafka
  • MongoDB, Maven, and Gitlab are also a huge plus
