This client is one of Amsterdam’s fastest-growing scaleups and, following their recent Series C, the latest unicorn. They are a cloud communications platform that enables 20,000 organisations worldwide (including Facebook, Uber and HelloFresh) engage with their customers cross-platform. They are in the process of completely cornering this market, and are doubling in size this year from 400 to 800 employees. In addition, they have used the pandemic to become a 100% remote-first company.

What to expect:

With this number of customers, they are dealing with a vast amount of data from every WhatsApp, SMS and call made. The Team Lead’s role will be to help build a high-performing and high-velocity squad. This involves roughly 70% technical work – programming, data architecture and strategy definition – and 30% leadership – reviews, mentoring, team growth. The team will be working on real-time streaming pipelines, highly scalable distributed systems and operationalising machine learning. This is a high growth role and it will be a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year's experience in the form of people management.
  • Their current tech stack includes: Java, Golang, Beam, Spark, Kafka, GCP, AWS, Kubernetes, Druid, Kubeflow, MLFlow and Databricks.
  • Experience managing batch and streaming pipelines in the likes of Beam, Spark or Kafka.
  • Strong experience working with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS, and containers (Kubernetes).
  • Good communication ability in order to lead a team remotely, and have the drive to deliver results quickly.
