Orange Quarter have partnered up with Amsterdam’s newest FinTech startup to hire their new Data Lead. This company are building a completely new digital bank for SMEs and entrepreneurs. This year will be a big year for the business as they plan to launch a new banking product each quarter, ultimately developing a data and automation driven bank for smaller enterprises. They’ve built a senior leadership team of FinTech startup veterans from some of Amsterdam and London’s best known challenger bank success stories and you’ll join this team, focussing on Data as a product, from both a technical and strategic POV.

What to expect:

This is a high impact role for an experienced Data Lead. The company are scaling their cross-functional management team who will be responsible for setting the architectural process of their product and establishing its technical roadmap. As the Data Lead, you will be involved in key decision around the data model/architecture and strategy along with building and coaching a team focused on creating and deploying the entire AWS-based data platform. The data team sits at the core of the business and product, so you will act as the pillar within a challenging start-up environment and will need to be highly driven and motivated. Technical experience in a Fintech/Banking context combined with stakeholder management experience is therefore key here.

Requirements:

  • Experience with public cloud based data architecture/enterprise architecture/distributed systems (preferably AWS, but Azure/GCP could also work)
  • Domain knowledge is really key - experience working in a financial institution/fintech, even better if it relates to risk modelling
  • Leadership skills - both in terms of team management and dealing with C-level stakeholders
  • A strong product mindset - understanding the bigger picture and what to prioritise
