Orange Quarter is proud to be working with one of the companies leading the line in the Netherlands when it comes to using real data to drive decisions around market activity.
The company have been shaping their internal development function for the last few years and introducing data specialists to the mix in order to perfect their product. They are now looking to increase their overall engineering team, starting by hiring an experienced DevOps engineer.
The role of the DevOps engineer would focus on introducing key automation tools by working closely with the new CTO and the wider development team. There will be a good degree of autonomy over which tools you use (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins etc).
You’ll be focusing on building environments for the development team as well as introducing container technology like Docker into the business. You will need to coach and enable others to utilise containers effectively to benefit the wider engineering/dev team.
The overall plan for this year is to move the main platform entirely into containers in an AWS environment with the view to potentially introducing micro services in the future so there is no shortage of work for you to engage with on the horizon.
The existing dev team are extremely open to new technology and anything which can help to make their lives easier and move features from dev to production in a quicker fashion!
The ideal candidate would bring previous cloud migration experience to the role, however this is not a ‘must have’. The dev team are hoping to attract someone who can help them to improve their CI/CD practices as well.
There is still a degree of maintenance required for the older infrastructure as it is being moved to the new platform so it’s important that you have the ability to technically communicate with the development team but also the skills to provide operational support.
In an effort to secure the best possible candidate for this job, the company have put together an outstanding package.
