Have you ever wanted to join a company ahead of a large international expansion? Maybe handling large amounts of data is your thing? Well  this opportunity might be the one for you! Our client owns and operates multiple websites in the Benelux region is in the process of a further international expansion. They are looking to migrate their on-premise data warehouse to AWS, and the work has already begun with the Data team. They’re now looking for a new freelance Data Engineer to join the team and help facilitate this migration as efficiently as possible.

What to expect:

Currently their data warehouse is on-premise using a PostgreSQL database, and they’re looking to migrate to AWS and modernise it in order to make use of Cloud Native technologies. You will need to be able to not only understand complex data flows, but how they interact with and affect business processes as this will be crucial to successfully migrating and reimplementing them on AWS. You won’t be alone though, you will work as a part of their data team and drive the project forward together.

Requirements:

  • Significant working experience within AWS Cloud (Azure or GCP also considered)
  • Redshift, Snowflake or BigQuery
  • Python, Docker, Bash, Git, SQL
  • Apache Airflow, Kafka
  • Great team work ability, can-do mentality, reliable work ethic
  • Nice to have: IaC, experience building data streaming pipelines, DevOps experience, dbt
