Orange Quarter are looking for a Head of Engineering to join a company at the forefront of Germany’s rapidly growing GovTech sector. This company have developed a cloud-based platform that integrates data from the public sector to help municipalities, government institutions and national governments make better decisions through harnessing the power of modern data analytics and intelligence methods and technologies. They have worked on real-life projects spanning Coronavirus policy, housing and homelessness, education and more, issues that affect the lives of people around you.

What to expect:

You will join a young and ambitious team that helps the public sector improve decision making in a number of hugely interesting areas. Whether is be demographic planning and migration, coronavirus responses, social and child services, education or transport and mobility, your work will be truly impactful and shape the way Germany is run. You will lead and grow a multi-disciplinary engineering team, solve key data and software architecture problems and oversee a large data ingestion and overall ETL strategy while developing their SaaS and visualisation products. This is a small team and will require some hands on work.

Requirements:

  • 5+ Years of experience of (team)leadership within Engineering
  • Engineering skills in Node.js, React and Python with an affinity for Data, Analytics and ML
  • You are both a high-level strategic thinker and hands-on problem solver
  • You want to be part of a growth startup, and understand what this really means
