Orange Quarter are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join Berlin’s most exciting Social Commerce startup. This company has an innovative approach to building brands, combining a completely data-driven marketing approach with great product development, focussing on building a family of sustainable brands across the Health and Wellness space. You’ll work directly with an experienced team of founders who have a track record of building successful startups in this space.

What to expect:

You will be the first in-house hire in the Data team and while the job title is Senior Data Engineer, your responsibilities will be broader than this. This is a near-greenfield project where you will take full ownership of their data architecture, making key decisions on data tooling and technologies. You will be the overall technical lead of the data platform, working directly with C-Level management and stakeholders across the business to implement your shared vision. Your overall goal is to design and implement a scalable data architecture capable of handling the company’s hugely increasing customer base. This is a rapidly growing company and you will need strong leadership skills as we look to hire additional Engineers and Analysts into the Data team.

Requirements:

  • Experience in designing and implementing ETL pipelines, ideally in a greenfield situation
  • Ideally, you have some experience and an affinity for the eCommerce space
  • Communication skills are a priority, you'll be working directly with C-Level Management in this role
  • Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing, ideally with BigQuery (or Redshift/Snowflake) and NoSQL databases like MongoDB
  • Leadership/Mentorship experience, you'll be leading and growing a small team in the future
