OQ is now working with the leading innovation centre of a large materials manufacturer (think medicine bottles, bed frames and LEGO), developing new tooling to transform an old, dusty industry. With every transaction counting in the millions and large clients from Germany to China, the team of 15 works in a corporate environment but with the flexibility of being a startup. What to expect:

The Data Engineer will be a T-shaped position that works with both the technical and commercial sides of the business, driving both quality and insights to multiple teams (e.g. growth, sales, finance). With the ability to make architectural decisions possible, you will have a strong impact on the company’s roadmap. Currently they are working with the likes of AWS, Airflow, Python, SQL, Git and Tableau. Should you desire can also take on tasks in other areas to broaden yourself, like DevOps or hosting for example.

  • Flexibility to work remotely post-pandemic (not full-time remote but mostly).
  • Talented team of engineers and trustworthy leadership level.


  • At least two years work experience after finishing university.
  • Out of the technologies mentioned above Python, SQL and Airflow are the most essential.
  • Good communication skills to work with multiple data consumers and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate a corporate environment (albeit from a position of flexibility)
