This year-old startup was created by two of the founding team members of N26 with the goal to create a new model of managing financial services. They are building an infrastructure platform which will act as a middle layer between end customers and eCommerce platforms, with the vision to offer different payment gateways, such as PayPal, credit card, vouchers, Klarna etc. The long-term goal is to offer credit- and insurance-related features that will allow SMEs to be loaned money for assets and capital.

What to expect:

You’ll be joining a team of 15 people and will report directly to the Head of Engineering. It’s an exciting time to join as this startup has ambitious plans to double the team size over the course of the next year. You will be the first SRE in the company and will assume responsibility for the infrastructure, promoting a DevOps culture in the company, and as the company grows, you’ll build the SRE team. 

Given the early stage of the company, the infrastructure is pretty much your blank canvas, and you’ll have plenty of autonomy to optimise it and implement new tools and technologies. One project that is underway is the implemention of HashiCorp Vault, and you’ll be working with AWS, K8s, Terraform, Helm.

Requirements:

  • You have domain experience in the Fintech space
  • You have good experience of service mesh architecture (Envoy, Docker, K8s, Istio)
  • You have a proven track record in designing, building and maintaining infrastructure modules
  • You have strong communication skills and can effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience of greenfield infrastructure environments
  • You consider yourself a generalist and enjoy working on a broad scope of tasks
  • You have spent time working as a developer, and are comfortable coding
