OQ are working with NL’s largest housing marketplace, based by the water in central Amsterdam. We are searching for their next Data Engineer, who will join their now 6-person strong Data function, building out their data platform on the cloud. With massive amounts of value coming from data already within the organisation, this is a crucial role for the business. Data has already been named one of the major focal points for their 2020 strategy, so now’s a great time to come on board and make maximum impact.

What to expect:

Working in the company’s core analytics team along with Data Scientists and guided by an extensively experienced Head of Data to deliver and enable data flows across the business. Playing with very big data in disparate sources, creating one source of truth in the form of a unified platform. You need to understand the architecture needed for such a setup and be independent enough to impact it how you see fit.

Requirements:

  • You are well able to get your hands dirty with BIG data, using Spark ideally but Hadoop is also ok.
  • You are familiar with modern data storage solutions, be it Snowflake, Redshift of BigQuery. Working with an ETL solution like Airflow would also be a big plus.
  • Great programming skills, preferably Python but if you’re a Java/Scala/C# expert…let’s talk. Also, excellent SQL skills, naturally.
  • You know how to speak the language of data. You understand the customer and the value of data within the business.
