OQ are working with an Utrecht-based startup, their business is truly data driven. With one third of the current team (18 FTE) entirely focussed on Data Science, their commitment to their craft is evident. They are continuously developing and honing their product, a decision making tool for tech teams – enabling them to drive their product in an informed way.

What to expect:

You will be working in close collaboration with experienced software and data engineers to deliver scalable, reliable and flexible solutions based on huge sets of user’s behavioural data. Daily, you’ll be building long-term partnerships with customers to deliver custom data products, driving their data strategy forward. Facilitating the production of Machine Learning products from conception with control over the end-to-end data life cycle, from algorithm development to collaborating with your SWE teammates on deployment, testing and automation. Working with a sophisticated data stack in an environment with a strong software engineering culture.

Requirements:

  • The technical approach here is largely agnostic and solutions focussed. However, the current and typical tools and technologies they look for include Python and Pandas (standard, right?)
  • Ability to query large data sets - relational and otherwise, in BigQuery and Athena
  • Confidence in selecting and designing a range of complex Machine Learning algorithms for various business use-cases
  • You must have a strong software engineering mindset, best practices are king. Culture fit is key here. You thrive with an occasional deadline - challenges and problem solving drive you - never ceasing to work meticulously of course
  • Pluses: Experience with the Google Data stack/GCP along with Big Data processing tools (think Spark, Flink, Airflow) and web analytics (Google, Adobe)
