We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a well-established and very profitable organisation in the printed gifts space. Think about how cute your dog would look if it was printed on a coffee mug! Earlier this year 2 giants merged to form a single group. On the web platform alone they last year sold €130 million’s worth of products. At any one time, they could have more than 3,000 concurrent users globally and their mobile platform sees an annual growth of 2-5% in its users. As a company that has been in the industry for over 20 years, they rely on no external investment and are the very definition of recession-proof.
Since the company went through a merger earlier this year, they have been tasked with understanding and migrating its complex Backend systems. A big challenge they have is that they are missing the middle layer in between the Software Architects and Software Engineers. How familiar are you with translating designs into implementing the code? And how do you communicate this to other Engineers? Given their customer base and global reach, things are delicate and downtime during their peak seasons can’t be jeopardised.
