Photobox is an online photo printing company, founded in 2000 by Graham Hobson. Photobox has two offices, one in London and one in Paris, and operates in 10+ countries, predominantly in Europe. Their app offers a large range of customisable products, like photo books and calendars, and easy creation tools. They currently have 6 million + users using their app on both Android and iOS.

Challenge Accepted

At the start of 2022, Photobox merged with another global brand called Albelli. As a result, they have been faced with major technical complexities and were tasked with the challenge of hiring a team of multi-disciplinary engineers to spearhead their growth. The specific focus was to build their Barcelona development hub with the requirement that all the engineers had to be based in Spain.

Results

We met with the Head of Talent Acquisition and Engineering Manager to understand why they hadn’t been able to successfully hire and to gain an understanding of what they needed from these Engineers. We also met with them in their office in London to get a feel for the company culture and meet their UK-based stakeholders and leadership team. Orange Quarter sent x5 CVs to the Hiring Manager and the 1st Android profile reviewed was successfully hired.
