We are working with a Boston and Berlin based scale-up to help them hire a Senior Data Streaming Engineer on a freelance basis. They have developed an Observability and Reliability tool specifically geared for the IoT space. Think Datadog or New Relic, but for a niche market. You will work on genuinely huge data, in the multiple billions of events daily. You will help design a distributed data system that can scale way past this scale.

What to expect:

You will join the Platform team and work across three core areas. You will work on complex distributed (data) system engineering, real-time streaming and a huge database migration. They have huge amounts of data, and quite a few big technical challenges for you to work on.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience working on real-time data streaming, either with Kafka or RabbitMQN (bonus points for both)
  • You are able to design and build scalable databases, ideally with Postgres
