A well-known, Dutch scale-up is in the market for a Lead Engineer to help mutliple teams with their technical decision-making. The business is in the e-commerce shipping industry.
They help e-commerce companies increase conversion by optimising their checkout phase and offering a white-labelled tracking and a return process for both businesses and consumers.
The tasks at hand are not only new feature development for their customers but an equal emphasis on performance as their customer base expands globally.
You will lead engineering teams along with the Engineering Manager. The aim of this role is to bring the technical decision-making closer to the engineers, giving them as much autonomy as possible.
70% of your time will be focused on hands-on engineering and 30% will be allocated to design and architecture.
The company has grown rapidly over the last 6 years and continues to do so. Ensuring new features are developed in a scalable and maintainable way and optimising performance of the existing ones is the main goal.
