Senior Python Engineer

Amsterdam, Permanent

Orange Quarter are currently working with an early stage start-up that is disrupting the traditional mortgage and real estate landscape in The Netherlands (and beyond).  This company believes that everyone should be able to buy a house. With their new mortgage system they enable people with middle incomes to still take out loans and share forces with banks to get their foot in the door on the housing market.

Industry:

OQ-industries Digital Platform
OQ-industries Real Estate

What to expect:

They are developing a platform that will be your one-stop-shop for purchasing a house, including listings, mortgage applications and broker’s meetings. Having everything on one platform will reduce the time this process usually takes up from months, to just weeks.

For the financial side of the platform, they are now looking to hire Senior Python Engineers who have prior working experience on platform development, and ideally some knowledge of infrastructure. The mortgage portal is the first part of the platform that you will tackle, looking at architecture, design, and development. To achieve this, they are looking for experienced engineers who like the fast-paced environment of a start-up but who also know how to keep the bigger picture in mind throughout the development process.

Perks:

  • You will be building financial services from scratch, so this is your chance to have a big impact!
  • Casual working culture of an early stage startup
  • Working with experienced entrepreneurs who know how to make a business successful
  • Strong salary package with equity included

Requirements:

  • Strong experience working with Python/Django
  • Having worked on platform engineering before
  • Experience or interest in working with infrastructure and CI/CD
  • Living in/around Amsterdam (they go to the office 3x per week)
