Orange Quarter is newly partnered with a young Consultancy, based in Potsdam/Babelsburg. They operate on a hybrid basis – 4 days from home & 1 day from their office.

They were initially founded by Ph.D. Physics graduates who specialised in projects for major Enterprises in the Energy & Automotive industry – this then spanned into the idea of building a profitable consultancy that works on web app development and platform development projects.

They have a team of 35, which includes 25 Developers. Engineering is the core focus of this consultancy.

This specific project is working on a GPS/Ticketing project for the German Government, meaning the role requires fluency in German. They’re all young, highly organised and passionate to work in a highly critical thinking environment.

What to expect:

In the life cycle team, they are developing a high-performance analytics platform for a well-known German medium-sized company in the automotive sector and work as part of a larger release train as an independent scrum team.

Big data techniques for streaming data and algorithmic performance are the focus of work on intelligent transport systems.

As a member of a highly qualified and cross-functional team, you will develop applications in Scala. Your modern tech stack includes Spark, Cassandra, Kafka, and Postgresql, among others. You will take on all tasks that arise in a cross-functional team, process-related, especially in ticket development and processing, technically with your Scala skills, gladly supported by another programming language such as Python.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of German at C1 level is absolutely necessary for the project
  • Enjoy developing Scala applications in agile teams
  • Proven experience with Test Driven Development / Behavior Driven Development (TDD/BDD)
  • At least 3 years of functional programming experience with Scala and a strong software engineering background
